Dear Friends,

With election day quickly approaching, and early voting now upon us, I am writing to give my full and enthusiastic endorsement to Holly McCall for New Castle Town Supervisor, Lori Morton, Mike Weinberg & Jennifer Bounds for Town Board and Vedat Gashi for County Legislature. Every member of the team is skilled in listening to members of the community and recognizing the importance of being responsive and achieving consensus. I am confident that they will do a wonderful job leading New Castle.

With her long-standing and deep involvement in the community, Holly McCall stands out as an ideal candidate to provide a steady and capable hand steering New Castle. Her work as a member of the Chappaqua Central School District Board of Education gives her a unique perspective and significant experience, especially as to the needs of younger families who come to New Castle in large measure due to the wonderful schools. Her business background as a financial services project manager suits her well in seeing “the bigger picture” and setting out viable plans through collaboration with stakeholders.

Dr. Lori Morton, with her scientific training, has brought a methodical and yet caring approach to her work as a member of the Town Board. She is analytical, thoughtful and patient. Like Holly, her roots in the community are deep and she has demonstrated her willingness to roll up her sleeves in service to New Castle. Lori has done a superlative job on the Town Board with her calm and unflappable demeanor. At a time when there will be significant turnover in the leadership of New Castle, it will be critically important to have Lori's experience.

With his own finance and consulting business, and as a staff member for State Senator Pete Harckham, Michael Weinberg provides an additional dimension and further depth to the team. He has a deep understanding not only of New Castle but as a lifetime resident of Westchester County, and a wider understanding of the 14 other towns in Senator Harckham’s district. A longtime volunteer in a wide range of community activities, he will be an outstanding addition to the Board.

With a record of successfully welcoming diversity into the community, Jennifer Bounds has an eye towards the future. Her commitment to attract diverse businesses and residents to New Castle is founded on her love for New Castle. In her work as head of US operations for a European manufacturer, she is central to moving projects forward – a skill highly useful to work on the Town Board. Her leadership in creating the Jean Craighead George Park was outstanding.

At the County level, Vedat Gashi represents his district with total commitment to the needs of the community. He is tireless in his work, going about it cheerfully and effectively. In a short time, he has shown himself a highly capable and effective legislator who delivers for his district. He throws himself into the day-to-day work handling individual issues, no matter how small, with care and compassion. We need Vedat back in the County Legislature.

Finally, let’s not forget what a brilliant job both County Executive George Latimer and County Clerk Tim Idoni have done in Westchester. They are both up for reelection and both have my full endorsement

Let's get them elected New Castle! As I mentioned, early voting has begun and runs through this Sunday, October 31. On election day (Tuesday, Nov. 2), polls are open from 6 am-9 pm. Click here to find your polling location.
