Dear Friends,
With election day quickly approaching, and early voting now upon us, I am writing to give my full and enthusiastic endorsement to Michael Schiliro for Town Supervisor, Barry Reiter and Barbara DiGiacinto for Town Board, and David Vinjamuri for County Legislature. Representing North Castle in the NYS Assembly, I look forward to the prospect of working with these highly capable and community-focused leaders. I also endorse Ira Schulman for Town Justice.
Michael Schiliro has performed admirably as Supervisor since first taking office in January 2014, and I couldn’t be more pleased that he plans to continue. With Mike’s extensive experience in finance and banking, he has navigated North Castle’s fiscal ship shrewdly and prudently. Due to his adept handling of the Town’s finances, the Town government delivers a very high level of services while maintaining roads, parks, buildings and other infrastructure. With his well-regarded spirit of collaboration and collegiality, Mike sets the gold standard for service as a town supervisor. He has provided a steady and capable hand steering North Castle with transparency, inclusion and patience. Michael's significant accomplishments have earned him the highest respect not only in North Castle, but throughout Westchester County among the elected officials with whom he has worked.
Like Michael, Barry Reiter has a deep love of his community and shares Michael's view in governance. As an emergency responder and as the Town’s liaison to the consortium of northern Westchester municipalities for shared ambulance services, Barry has forged strong ties to other elected officials throughout Westchester County which serves North Castle well. As a principal of FPS Medical Billing Services for over 44 years, Barry has a deep understanding of the private practice physicians, medical groups and healthcare facilities. This understanding and knowledge has helped guide North Castle through the pandemic.
There are few more dedicated or responsive to the community than Barbara DiGiacinto, a member of the Town Board for over seven years. She is passionate about reaching out to the community, involving them and then advocating for them. Mindful of taxpayer dollars, together with her colleagues she kept property taxes well below the property tax cap while improving services.
At the County level, I encourage you to support David Vinjamuri for the Board of Legislators. David brings highly transferable skills as a nationally-recognized branding expert and an advocate for public libraries. He is compassionate and thoughtful, and is committed to spending taxpayer dollars efficiently and wisely. He would make wonderful addition to the Board.
In addition to voting for David at the County level, let’s not forget what a brilliant job both County Executive George Latimer and County Clerk Tim Idoni have done in Westchester. They are both up for reelection and both have my full endorsement.
North Castle indeed is fortunate to have such strong and capable public servants who wish to serve the community with competence, compassion and responsiveness. Let's get out and vote for them on election day!
